Valerie Flynt is a proud native Texan with a rich background that fuels her vibrant storytelling. For six years, she graced the stage of her hometown’s outdoor drama, “Viva El Paso,” before dedicating thirteen years to teaching in the Texas public school system. Valerie has embraced the rewarding journey of homeschooling her three amazing children for the past decade, finding daily inspiration and challenges in their shared learning experiences and family adventures. Her love for learning through life and extensive family travels deeply influences her work.
Beyond her roles as an educator and homeschool mom, Valerie is a passionate individual who enjoys traveling, dancing, running, cooking, learning, scrapbooking, reading, and writing. Her perspective on life was profoundly shaped by a battle with Stage 2 colon cancer in 2023, from which she is now thankfully in remission. This experience reinforced her long-held dream of becoming an author, transforming “one of these days” into “today.” Valerie lives each day to the fullest, a philosophy that resonates throughout her engaging books.
Hi, I’m Valerie! I am a homeschooling Mama of three littles. We love learning through life experiences and family adventures. I was an elementary teacher in the Texas public school system for 13 years before our family decided to venture into homeschooling. It has been such an amazing experience for us as a family! My family would like to share our journey through homeschooling.
